The Department of Technical Sciences of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU) and the Mathematical Institute of SANU will organize the Artificial Intelligence Conference in Belgrade on December 26-27, 2024.

On November 8th at 12h in the hall 102 on the first floor of the Mathematical Institute there will be a promotion of the book "A Hidden Harmony: Mathematics and Music through the Ages" containing selected papers from our seminar Mathematics and Music.
The violinist Sonja Kalajić will perform several pieces on the violin and on the saw.

November 11-13, 2024

The Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts is organising the 34th international conference Novembertagung on the History and Philosophy of Mathematics. This year's theme is “Unifying the Old and the New: A Cross-Section of Contemporary Investigations and Trends in History and Philosophy of Mathematics". Keynote lectures will be given by José Ferreirós, Vincenzo De Risi, and Øystein Linnebo.

Twenty minute talks will be delivered by Vladimir Dragović, Milojica Jaćimović, Svjetlana Terzić, Slobodan Vujošević, Žana Kovijanić Vukićević, Petar Pavešić, Duško Jojić, Manuela Muzika Dizdarević, Marinko Timotijević, Marija Jelić Milutinović, Filip Jevtić, Marko Pešović, Milica Jovanović, Ilija Vrećica i Dušan Joksimović.

September 9-20, 2024

In the following two weeks, the first mathematical school in collaboration with CIMPA and the first international school on number theory in Serbia, "Introduction to number theory and algebraic curves", will be held at the Mathematical Institute and Faculty of Mathematics in Belgrade. The lecturers are professors from universities in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Italy. In the first week, September 9-13, the school will be held at the Faculty of Mathematics and in the second week, September 16-20, at the Mathematical Institute. Everyone interested in number theory is welcome to attend the school.

Dr. Luka Milićević, research associate professor at the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, is the winner of the Award for Achievements in Mathematical Sciences. This award is given by the Association of Mathematicians of Serbia to a citizen of the Republic of Serbia who is no older than 40 years of age and has lived in Serbia for the past 10 years. During the opening ceremony of the 15th Serbian Mathematical Congress, Professor Miroslav Marić, president of the Association of Mathematicians of Serbia, presented the award.
